A request to rezone property in north Sheridan was an agenda item at Tuesday night’s Sheridan City Council study session. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.
The details of a request from seven different property owners in north Sheridan to rezone nine different properties from B-1 Business District to B-2 Business District were presented to the City Council by City Planner Kelly Schroeder. The nine properties are located on Canfield Street, Kooi Street and North Main Street. Schroeder provided information on the properties that are part of the proposed rezone.
Schroeder said that all of the properties requesting the rezone were annexed into the City in 1973 and that they have been zoned B-1 since that time. Schroeder added that the applicants are requesting the rezone to expand the allowable uses on their properties and to better match the current and historical use of the area. The rezone request will come before the City Council in the form of an ordinance at one of their upcoming business meetings.
