June 7 is Annual Free Fishing Day

The Wyoming Game and Fish is inviting the public to celebrate Wyoming’s five-star fisheries this year by fishing without a license for a day — for free. 

June 7, will be a big day for angels as each year, the Wyoming Game and Fish Department designates the first Saturday of National Boating and Fishing Week as a free fishing day when anyone can fish in Wyoming without a fishing license. 

All other fishing regulations, creel and size limits, gear restrictions, and stream closures do remain in effect. Anglers can review the 2025 Fishing Regulations online before heading out and plan their trips with the interactive fishing guide. 

Exceptions to the Free Fishing Day are within the Wind River Reservation and Yellowstone National Park.
