News – Sheridan Media

The Sheridan Community Land Trust is inviting the community to learn what happened to a small Wyoming town.

The SCLT Explore History Evening: What Remains of Monarch? This program is being called a special event hosted by SCLT History Program Manager Kevin Knapp.

Nestled along the Tongue River, the former community of Monarch was important in Sheridan County’s coal mining boom. Knapp will host a program that explores what remains of Monarch, and the research and preservation of historic Monarch Lutheran Cemetery and the recently removed historic Monarch Bridge.

The event begins at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 11, in the SCLT Community Rooms at Sheridan Community Land Trust at 14 Lane Ln, Sheridan.

SCLT Explore History is free to attend and open to all.
