The budget for the City of Sheridan was adopted in the form of a resolution by the City Council at Monday night’s business meeting. The appropriations for the City’s fiscal year 2026 budget that begins on July 1 is just under $140.4 million. City Administrator Stu McRae, after thanking all of the staff that spent time crafting the budget, thanked the governing body for their role in preparing.
The budget resolution was approved by a vote of 6 to 1 with Councilman Andy Patceg being the lone no vote. Two proposed amendments to the budget resolution made by Patceg prior to the Council’s vote failed due to a lack of a second by another member of the Council.
The first amendment proposed to remove Sheridan Public Arts Committee funding for acquisition of art and to retain only the funding necessary to maintain the art that the City already owns. The other motion that failed was to remove funding for the City’s membership within the Wyoming Association of Municipalities.
