The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) has released the latest update on the Buffalo Main Street Project as of Tuesday, June 17.
On South Main Street, the detour at Cemetery Creek is now in place.
Expect one-way traffic with a signal. Wait time should be no longer than 2 minutes. Expect a reduced speed limit through that area. Watch for heavy truck traffic moving in and out of the work zone. The culvert is scheduled to be placed and a normal travel pattern is expected in time for the start of school, depending on weather and schedules.
Paving on the curb and gutter at the Fort Street intersection continues with work shifting to the centerline, requiring traffic to be shifted to the east and west sides of the work zones in a zig-zag pattern. Motorists should watch for flaggers.
The signal at that intersection will be turned off, with a three-way stop in place.
Utility work continues from Fort Street to Snider Street with contractors working on installing eastside service lines. Expect lane closures, head-to-head traffic, flagging operations, heavy traffic and reduced speeds. Driveways and approaches in the work zone may be closed for a limited time during paving prep aand asphalt placement.
The new signal at the Hart Street intersection is in place but will remain flashing red until work is done at that intersection, with stop signs remaining in place.
