Sheridan County patients who need an MRI will soon not always have to go to the same place inside the Sheridan Memorial Hospital Building.
The Hospital has announced that by the end of this summer, a new MRI machine will be installed inside the hospital’s outpatient center on the east side of the building.
Hospital President and CEO Mike McCafferty says it’s been a little difficult recently for patients to schedule a time to have an MRI, because of the availability of the one that the hospital currently has and that a second one will help open up the log jam.
“We will continue to utilize the MRI in the hospital, and that runs everyday and it continues to be at capacity and so being able to have more access for patients is going to be outstanding.”
MRIs are used to diagnose a variety of conditions such as brain and spinal cord injuries and diseases, joint and muscle problems, internal organ issues, tumors and other abnormalities and blood flow problems.
