Buffalo High School (BHS) has a new principal, after the Johnson County School Board approved the recommendation during a special meeting Wednesday night.
The board went into an executive session, then returned and made the announcement.
Jake Evans will serve as the principal and will officially begin his duties on Tuesday, July 1.
The district held a community forum on June 18 to introduce the two finalists for the position, Jake Evans and Chris Cox, and to allow questions from the board as well as the public.
Cox is currently an assistant principal and science teacher at BHS; and
Evans is the principal at Kaycee High School, formerly a teacher at BHS.
