The Hospital Board of Trustees for the Johnson County Healthcare Center (JCHC) has approved and accepted their budgets for Fiscal Year 2026.

The board discussed their Capital Budget for needed expenditures for the fiscal year, approving about $834,000 as well as an $50,000 contingency.

The contingency fund is for CEO Luke Senden in case there are emergency purchases that need to be made before they can be approved by the board.

Also approved was the healthcare center’s Fiscal Budget, which shows a projected income from operations of roughly $37 million; operating expenses of about $41 million; total non-operational income of just over $3 million for a net loss of roughly $1.5 million.

The budget also shows an EBITDA of $2.6 million.

According to investopedia.com, EBITDA is short for earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization, and is an alternate measure of profitability to net income. It is used to assess a company’s profitability and financial performance.

The board voted to approve their budget for Fiscal Year 2026.
