2025 WYO Rodeo Boot Kick-Off

The Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors and the Sheridan WYO Rodeo Board kicked off Sheridan WYO Rodeo Week with the annual Boot Kick-Off and Stick Horse Barrel Races on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at Whitney Commons Park.

Participants competed to see who could “kick off” their boot the farthest.

Katie Culver, chair of the Chamber of Commences Ambassadors committee, talked about this year’s boot kick off.

Teresa Detimore Chamber CEO said that even though the day was hot, she felt like the attendance would be about the same as last years event.

Sheridan WYO Rodeo royalty attended and helped with the event. Isabella Yellowtail, 2026 Rodeo Queen and her attendant Galen Reed, each added a comment.

Boots flew and chamber bucks were awarded to the three top winners in each category.

Ages 9-12 Girls & Boys: First place – Lois Johnson; Second place – Alex Heid; Third place – Fiona Johnson

Ages 13-17 Girls – First place – Alejandra Trocha; Second place – Aubrey Hartley; Third place – Kyra Detimore

Ages 13-17 Boys – First place – Cole Connors; Second place – Finn Stalick; Third place – Blaze Hutton

Ages 18 & Up Women – First place – Megan Sessions; Second place – Brittany Gorzalka; Third place – Taylor Townsend

Ages 18 & Up Men:- First place – Riley Sessions; Second place – Josh Wilcox; Third place – Sergio Trocha.

This year, according to Jodi Hartly, Chamber Marketing and Communications Director, a total of $1,330 in Chamber Bucks was awarded. The 2025 Boot Kick Off was sponsored by Barney & Graham.
