Sheridan Woman Changes Plea on Drug Distribution Charge

Pursuant to the terms of a plea agreement reached with the State, 32-year-old Andrea Bartling pleaded guilty to one count of delivery of a controlled substance – methamphetamine. In exchange for the guilty plea, the State agreed to dismiss a charge of conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance. The plea agreement recommends a sentence of 2 to 8 years in prison and is a non binding plea agreement, which means the Court can reject the plea deal at sentencing and the defendant cannot withdraw their guilty plea.

District Court Judge Darci Phillips ordered that a presentence investigation be completed by the Department of Corrections Division of Probation and Parole and scheduled sentencing for September 25 at 9 am. Bartling’s bond was continued under the same terms and conditions that were previously set.

Bartling’s arrest was part of an investigation by the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation into the distribution of methamphetamine in the Sheridan area. Bartling delivered methamphetamine on February 4 to an individual in Sheridan County and was the source of supply of methamphetamine for a number of people in the Sheridan area.
