WYDOT’s Latest Update on Buffalo Main Street Project for July 31

August 1, 2025

News – Sheridan Media

The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) has released the latest information on the Buffalo Main Street project as of Thursday, July 31.

On South Main Street at the Cemetery Creek Culvert, traffic has switched to the east side of the work zone. There is a dip and curve to the detour, so motorists are asked to take it slow through that area. Pedestrians are asked to avoid walking through the detour.

On South Main Street from the Bypass to Brock Street will be closed on Saturday, August 2 from 8 a.m. until the end of the parade, so motorists are asked to plan accordingly. The parade route will start at Parmalee Street, proceed north on Main Street, turning west on Fort Street.

Downtown Main Street at the Clear Creek Bridge, the epoxy overlay has been pushed back a few weeks. More information will be forthcoming.

On North Main Street from Fort Street to Hart Street, utility upgrades are “coming along nicely.” WYDOT hopes to have that section completed within the next few weeks, with paving expected to happen by mid-month.

WYDOT reminds pedestrians to use sidewalks with cation, and remind the public that sidewalks are closed to bicycles and electric bikes.
