The Johnson County School Board has voted to accept funding for a Special Olympics coach position for the local program.
JCSD1 Superintendent Charles Auzqui requested the matter be added to the board’s agenda for discussion.
Auzqui further explained that the funding is from the federal government through an application process the district had already completed.
JCSD1 Special Services Director Craig Anderson explained the need for additional funding for another assistant coach.
The district will advertise to fill the position now that the funding has been accepted.
