The Sheridan Civic Theater Guild will stage Twelve Angry Men next month at the Carriage House Theater.
The play follows 12 jurors deliberating a murder trial who must reach a unanimous verdict before returning to their lives outside the jury room. Preconceived notions and biases quickly surface, turning deliberations into heated exchanges. The story examines due process, the concept of a fair trial and the responsibility of jurors charged with deciding another person’s fate.
CTG Board Member and “Twelve Angry Men” Director Jenni Reed explained that her concept suggests that doing the play in this or any time is a, “…snapshot of what it means to be a man in America, and how men currently view the world.”
Performances are scheduled for Sept. 12–14, 19–21 and 26–28 at 7 p.m. and 2 p.m.
Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for seniors, military and students. Find tickets here.
The production is presented by special arrangement with The Dramatic Publishing Company of Woodstock, Illinois.
