Sheridan Commission Ratifies Red Grade Forest Products Permit

Sheridan County’s Commissioners have ratified a Commercial Forest Products Permit with the Office of State Lands and Investments, Forestry Division, for the harvest of trees on roughly three acres in the Red Grade Road widening project.

According to the permit agreement, it allows the county to harvest and remove two truckloads of Douglas Fir from the area for firewood for a total payment to the state of $3,000 or $1,500 per truckload.

The permit expires on December 31, 2028.

Also ratified was a License Agreement with Powder River Energy Corporation for an overhead installation of an unenergized line on County Road #273, a/k/a Upper Powder River Road, for a fee of roughly $620.
