Buffalo Mayor Shane Schrader has proclaimed September 2025 as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month in the City of Buffalo.
According to the proclamation, over 70 Wyoming children have lost their battle with cancer, brain, or spinal cord tumors in the last 29 years.
Additionally, cancer affects children and young adults differently from adults as their bodies are still developing and the side effects of treatments can cause more harm to maturing bodily systems.
Mayor Schrader said September is recognized internationally as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and proclaimed the same in Buffalo.
