A 41-year-old Sheridan woman was sentenced for battery Thursday in Fourth Judicial District Court. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has more.

Pursuant to the terms of a plea agreement reached with the State, Charissa Carver pleaded guilty to the charge of misdemeanor battery. In exchange for the guilty plea, the State agreed to dismiss a felony charge of unlawful entry into an occupied structure. District Court Judge Darci Phillips accepted the plea agreement and sentenced Carver to 90 in jail, suspended in favor of six-months of unsupervised probation. Judge Phillips ordered Carver to pay $200 in court costs and assessments and $250 in public defender fees.

According to court documents, on April 8, 2025, Carver and two of her friends went to an apartment on East Brundage Lane in Sheridan, where Carver and one of the friends allegedly pushed their way into the residence during a dispute with the victim, who was a tenant of the apartment. The victim stated to law enforcement that Carver punched and shoved her once she was inside the apartment. Video surveillance also showed one of Carver’s friends dragging the victim’s dog out of the apartment.

At a change of plea hearing, 28-year-old Anya Fritz pleaded no contest to the charges of felony aggravated assault and battery and misdemeanor domestic battery. The plea agreement that was reached between the State and Fritz, recommends a 3 to 6 year prison sentence for the aggravated assault charge and 180 days in jail for the domestic battery charge, and to run the jail sentence concurrent to the prison sentence.

District Court Judge Darci Phillips ordered that a presentence investigation be completed by the Department of Corrections Division of Probation and Parole and scheduled the sentencing hearing for December 2 at 9:45 am. Fritz’s bond was revoked and she was remanded to the custody of the Sheridan County Detention Center pending sentencing. The charges stem from an incident on April 20, 2025, where she threatened an individual with a knife at a residence in Sheridan.

A Sheridan man changed his plea on two felony drug possession charges at a recent hearing in Fourth Judicial District Court. On April 20, 2025, Craig Sadler was arrested by an officer with the Sheridan Police Department for being in possession of methamphetamine and marijuana. Sadler was asleep in his vehicle in the Bethesda Worship Center parking lot just prior to his arrest. At a change of plea hearing in District Court, Sadler pleaded guilty to two counts of felony drug possession. The crimes were charged as felonies because Sadler has three previous drug possession convictions.

Terms of the plea agreement reached with the State recommend 2 ½ to 4 years in prison for each of the two charges, concurrent to one another and suspended in lieu of three years of supervised probation. District Court Judge Darci Phillips ordered that a presentence investigation be completed by the Department of Corrections Division of Probation and Parole and scheduled sentencing for December 4 at 9 am. Sadler’s bond was continued under the same terms and conditions that were previously set in Circuit Court.
