Applications for the Leadership Sheridan County program will open Oct. 1, according to the Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce.

Chamber CEO Teresa Detimore and Program Development Director Kim Jacobson joined Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse to encourage residents to apply for the nine-month program, which is designed to inspire citizens to assume leadership roles in the community.

Jacobson, a graduate of the 2022 class, said the program requires a serious commitment but offers valuable returns.

The course includes a retreat, seven full-day modules, and an overnight trip to Cheyenne. Participants must attend the retreat and at least seven of the eight regular modules to graduate.

Detimore said one important component of the program highlights how the different levels of government affect Sheridan residents.
