Johnson County’s Commissioners are petitioning the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) to re-designate the Clear Creek Conservation District as a “Good Neighbor Authority” when it comes to spraying for invasive weeds in burn scars in the county from the wildfires in 2024.
Commission Chairman Bill Novotny gave more details on the problem.
Novotny said in talking to the BLM’s local office director, he was surprised about the decision by the Cheyenne office to not treat the CCDC as a county entity and not allowing spraying on BLM land.
Novotny made his request of the commission.
The commission voted to approve the request.
