In December of 2024, staff with the City of Sheridan worked with adjacent property owner Sheridan Heights Ranch, LLC to adjust the boundary line of the Kendrick Municipal Golf Course to match the existing fence line. City Planner Kelly Schroeder said this was simply a property boundary adjustment, not a municipal boundary adjustment, and it resulted in 3.64 acres of land owned by Sheridan Heights Ranch, LLC to fall within municipal limits, and 4.15 acres of land owned by the City of Sheridan to fall within the County.
To remedy the situation, two applications were brought before the City Council in the form of ordinances; one to deannex 3.64 acres of property and another to annex 4.15 acres of property. Schroeder was asked by Councilman Andy Patceg if the City had ever deannexed property before?
The City Council has approved both of the ordinances two times and must approve them one more time before the annexation and deannexation goes into effect. Third and final reading of the ordinances is expected to be considered by the Council at their October 6 business meeting.
