SAGE Community Arts is putting out a call for art as they prepare for a black and white photography exhibit and juried show.
Photography was not widely accepted by the art community until the late 19th century. Mainly viewed as a mechanical and chemical process for scientific documentation, photographers or “pictoralists” began to arrange their photos to mimic classical art in composition and use of subjects.
While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, SAGE Executive Director Jill Benson said she always looks forward to this exhibit and the photos that are submitted. This year, the show will be juried by Alex Pigeon.

The call for art begins Oct. 1 and ends Dec. 1. The 11th Annual Photography Show will be at SAGE Community Arts in January of 2026.
