According to the Convention of States Action (COS), Washington, D.C., will never voluntarily relinquish power. Article V of the Constitution offers the single best remedy for the crisis our nation is facing.
To learn more about Article V and COS, there will be a town hall meeting in Sheridan on October 22nd, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Ramada Plaza. Speakers Mark Meckler, who is President and co-founder of the Convention of States, and Rick Green, President of Patriot Academy, will talk about Restoring America through Article V of the US Constitution.
The Convention of States Action is a 501(c)(4) nonprofit organization dedicated to reestablishing a culture of self-governance in America and limiting federal overreach. The COS boast a grassroots network comprising millions of dedicated supporters and volunteers in every legislative district across the nation.
Currently, 19 out of the constitutionally mandated 34 states have successfully passed the Convention of States Resolution. Wyoming has not, so far, passed the COS resolution.
Julie Baker state director of convention of states in Wyoming, said there are volunteers working across the state who are telling people about this. It requires the legislators to pass it in the house and senate, and the citizens must let the legislators know they want this. You can find a petition to send to your legislator at their website https://conventionofstates.com/
Julie Baker explained the Convention of States Action.
She added about the Convention, which is called by Congress.
She said there are three topics on the current resolution, one is to impose term limits on federal officials and congress: fiscal restraint and reducing power and jurisdiction of the federal government.
She explained that if, for example, a single subject amendment would be good, so that each bill proposed in congress would be on one subject, was to be addressed by the states, and if the states vote to ratify that, it will become a part of the constitution.
The resolution has been introduced to all fifty states, and 19 states have passed it, so they are waiting for the remaining states necessary before the convention can be called.
Baker added that even President Trump mentioned the Convention of States on his Truth Social Account on September 22. Convention of States President Mark Meckler is quoted as saying “There’s nobody more important and more appropriate to help lead the charge than President Trump.”
The Trump administration is composed of several COS endorsers and supporters, including Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins, U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee, and White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt.
