Buffalo Police Chief Sean Bissett recently discussed with the city council the Right Road event that happened earlier this fall at Buffalo High School, which his department was involved in.
He said the department was responsible for the drunk driving portion of the event, allowing kids to drive side-by-sides wearing goggles that mimicked vision while impaired at different levels.
He detailed what happened at the main event that afternoon.
According to an earlier Sheridan Media story, students attended seven stations in the morning that focus on drug awareness; online and real life safety/predation/trafficking; fire/medical/first-responder education; driving while under the influence of drugs/alcohol/texting; mental health/suicide prevention; seat belt safety; and sexual consent/relationship education, before experiencing the mock crash with fatalities in the afternoon.
