A Decade in Harmony: Sheridan College Symphony Band Marks 10 Years

October 8, 2025

News – Sheridan Media

The Sheridan College Symphony Band, under the direction of Director of Bands and Jazz Studies Dr. Eric Richards, will celebrate ten years of music-making at Sheridan College with a free concert featuring students, community musicians, and soloist Gwynff Bodtke.

While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, Richards said the program will honor the band’s beginnings and the commitment of those talented individuals who play and have played with him by revisiting selections from its first concerts in 2015.

The celebration will begin with a special performance by the SC Trombone Choir, whose short program will range from sacred to spirited.

The Sheridan College Symphony Band is inviting the community to join in this memorable afternoon honoring a decade of music beginning at 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 12, in Kinnison Hall at the Whitney Center for the Arts.
