In 1885, Edward A. Whitney arrived in Sheridan. His influence helped shape the town’s growth and continues today through his creation of Wyoming’s first educational foundation.

The Sheridan Community Land Trust invites the public to learn more at the next SCLT Explore History program, where Museum at the Bighorns Director Carrie Ida Edinger will share stories about Whitney’s time in Sheridan. She will also give a sneak peek into plans for displaying Whitney’s personal collection at the museum’s new location on Main Street in Downtown Sheridan.

SCLT Explore History will be held on: Tuesday, October 14, from 10 to 11:30 a.m., at The Hub on Smith in Sheridan, and again on Tuesday, October 21, from 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon, at the TRVCC in Dayton.

This Explore History program is free and open to all.
