Governor Gordon Receives Additional Complaints Regarding Weston County Clerk

October 21, 2025

News – Sheridan Media

Governor Mark Gordon (R-WY) received additional complaints Monday from several qualified electors of Weston County alleging new acts of misconduct or malfeasance by the Weston County Clerk and requesting removal from office. Those filing complaints include Karen Drost, Stanley Jasinski, Susan Love, and Allen Slagle. The complaints outline two new charges regarding the Weston County Clerk: Clerk Hadlock’s filing of a false post election audit following the 2024 General election and Clerk Hadlock’s refusal to comply with a legislative subpoena issued by the Management Audit Committee in violation of Wyoming law.

In May the Governor determined that while Clerk Hadlock had made serious mistakes in the 2024 Weston County elections, her actions did not constitute “willful negligence” or “malicious intent.” One of the key elements to determining malfeasance is motive or willfulness.

Following the mandated process set out in Wyoming statutes, the Governor’s Office will examine the verified complaint and conduct a thorough investigation to determine whether the allegations justify pursuing the requested statutory removal process. At the end of this investigation, the Governor will make a determination on the request.  Governor Gordon will have no comment on the investigation while it is ongoing, focusing instead on reviewing and determining relevant facts.
