Sheridan Kalif Shriners Joe Schwartz and Bill Rathburn appeared on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse to invite the community to brave the Tunnel of Terror.
Built in 1938, the Kalif Shriners Temple was often used for stage productions. Included in its construction was a series of tunnels that allowed actors to move throughout the building freely without disrupting the audience. It is within this labyrinth that the Shriners and many volunteers work to create a haunting experience designed to raise the heart rates of visitors.

The first Tunnels of Terror were organized and operated by the Daughters of the Nile, a women’s club affiliated with Freemasonry. When the Daughters of the Nile were ready to move on from the fundraiser, they turned the Tunnel of Terror over to the Kalif Shriners Clowns, who continue to operate it as a fundraiser.
Tickets will be sold at the door for $5 per person and $20 per family of four or more. The Tunnel of Terror will open 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, Friday, Oct. 31, and Saturday, Nov. 1, at the Kalif Shriners Temple in Sheridan.
