Sheridan County Conservation District Manager Carrie Rogaczewski appeared on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse reassuring residents that district staff remain hard at work and that the District Tree Program for 2026 will begin taking orders in November.

Rogaczewski said orders can be placed by email, through the mail, or directly on the district’s website. Although the district is a local entity, it is housed within the USDA Service Center, which remains closed during the ongoing federal government shutdown. Rogaczewski and her team continue to work remotely.
The tree program offers bulk sales of conservation-grade seedling trees used for windbreaks, living snow fences, erosion control and habitat projects.
Over the past several years, the district has partnered with Piney Island Native Plants to provide a perennial package designed for pollinator plantings.
