Tongue River Pathways Board members Bill Bensel and Gina Donnor appeared on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse to announce the official opening of the first six miles of an ADA-compliant trail linking communities together.
The Tongue River Pathways Board and the work they are accomplishing was the dream of many people within the Tongue River Valley.

That running can now be done on an ADA-compliant concrete path that connects the communities of Dayton and Ranchester, providing a level of safety, relaxation, recreation and connection residents haven’t been able to share before now. To ensure the trail remains open the board has created an endowment that will maintain the trail during the winter months.

Although some residents are already using the finished sections of the trail, the Tongue River Pathways Committee hopes the weather will hold out to allow completion by mid-to-late November. According to Donnor, regardless of weather conditions, the official opening ceremony will take place Saturday, Nov. 22, and everyone is invited to attend.
