Sheridan Community Land Trust has announced an experimental off-leash dog area at the Big Goose Natural Area, expanding recreational opportunities for local dog owners while promoting responsible trail use and wildlife stewardship.
While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, Sheridan Community Land Trust Public Engagement Assistant Bruce Scigliano spoke about the new off-leash area.

The new off-leash area is located inside the Big Goose Natural Area, just east of the SCLT office. Visitors can look for yellow trailhead and off-leash access signs. Scigliano said there are a few simple guidelines that SCLT asks visitors and their dogs to follow while using the space.

Once inside the designated zone, dogs are welcome to explore the developed trails off-leash as long as they remain under reliable voice control. Scigliano reminded visitors that the Big Goose Natural Area is a multi-use site, not a dog park, and dogs should stay on the developed trails.

Visitors are encouraged to share their experiences by emailing Jared Koenig at Jared@SheridanCLT.org or using #BGNA on Facebook or Instagram.
