Cost Of Living Index In Sheridan County At State Average For Second Quarter 2025

A new report from the Wyoming Economic Analysis Division says the cost of living in Sheridan County is about average with the rest of the state, and the costs of various items haven’t changed much.

In its second quarter 2025 report released last week, the Division says the statewide inflation rate was at 4.2%, while the US rate was at 2.7%.

Housing costs in Wyoming are up 5.8% compared to the second quarter of 2024, medical costs are up 3.8% and food is up 3.7%.

In Sheridan County, the cost of living index was at the state average (100%), with small increases being reported in the costs of food, apparel, transportation, as well as recreation and personal care.

Small decreases were reported in housing and medical costs, but rental rates were up anywhere from 3.2% to 10.8% depending on the type of rental.

Johnson County’s cost of living index was 93% of the state average.

Teton County had the highest rate at 175% and Goshen County was the lowest at 84%.
