District Court Arraignments

On September 15, the Sheridan Police Department received a report that several former employees of Black Bear Construction were using the businesses’ account to charge fuel for their vehicles at Farmer’s Coop in Sheridan. A subsequent investigation revealed that 20-year-old Tyler Parks and 19-year-old Kolby McDougall were allegedly forging the name of an employee of the construction company when signing receipts for gas at the Coop between June 1 and September 7 of this year.

At two separate arraignment hearings Tuesday, both McDougall and Parks pleaded not guilty to the charges of felony forgery and misdemeanor theft. District Court Judge Darci Phillips stacked the trials for March 30, 2026. Parks’ trial is #2 in the stack and McDougall’s is #3, which means they are the second and third trial scheduled for that particular date. Parks’ pretrial conference will take place March 3 at 9:30 am while McDougall’s pretrial conference was set for March 3 at 10 am. If convicted, each of the men  face up to 10 ½ years in prison and fines of up to $10,750.
