The Shriners are inviting every family in the community to the Kalif Shriners Kids Christmas Party happening this Saturday.
The Kalif Shriners have fundraised, organized and put on the Kalif Shriners Kids Christmas Party for decades. The party is an opportunity for the Shriners to show their appreciation for the support they receive from the community while also ensuring all children have a special event during the Holiday Season.
Former Shriner Potentate and chairman of the Kalif Shriner Kids Christmas Party Steve Schlenker and Shiner Divan member Otto Schwartz made an appearance on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse to invite all kiddos and their parents, grandparents and guardians to celebrate the season with the Kalif Shrine.
Completely free and open to every family to attend, the Shriners organize fundraisers throughout the year to fund the Kalif Shriners Kids Christmas Party. Schwartz said it is all hands on deck and takes months to organize, purchase toys, stuff stockings and get the Temple ready for their biggest party of the year.

Participation has waned over the years. With so many activities happening in the month of December many families are busy during the season. But Schlenker said they love the years they have to run out to purchase more food.
Shriners are an organization that works to improve the lives of every child, not just the lives of those they diligently serve through their nationwide clinics.
During the party every child will have an opportunity to visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus and will receive a stocking containing fun items and a stuffed toy.
For the members of the Kalif Shrine, this is the biggest show of the year. An opportunity to bring smiles to the faces of every boy and girl who attends the party that is intended just for them.

Beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday Dec. 6, at the Kalif Shriners Temple, bring the kids, enjoy a hot dog and visit with Santa, and help give the Kalif Shriners the only thanks they ask for, the laughter and smiles of local children.
