The Wyoming Game and Fish is reminding the public of a comment period ending at 5 p.m. Dec. 8.
On Dec. 1, Sheridan Regional Office hosted a public meeting to gather public input and answer questions regarding proposed changes to Chapter 3, Black Bear Hunting Seasons. Wyoming Game and Fish Public Information Specialist Christina Schmidt told Sheridan Media News that the meeting was well attended.
The meeting included large carnivore biologists, along with local wildlife managers who reviewed proposed black bear season dates, annual female mortality limits and other possible changes to hunting season structures.
Copies of the proposed regulations are still available for review on the Game and Fish website and in hard copy at the Sheridan Regional Office.
The public is encouraged to submit comments to be reviewed and considered by the Wyoming Game and Fish Commission prior to its January 2026 meeting in Cheyenne.
Comments will be accepted until 5 p.m. on Dec. 8, 2025.
Comments can be submitted online, or mailed to: Wyoming Game and Fish Department, Regulations 3030 Energy Lane Casper, WY 82604.
