The Sheridan Police Department is reminding residents to plan ahead, arrange a safe ride home, and be mindful of personal limits when consuming alcohol during the holiday season.
While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, SPD Captain Tom Ringley advised the public to drink responsibly and ensure they have reliable transportation home.
Ringley urges preplanning before attending a holiday party and designating a driver to help everyone get home safely.

The SPD Captain reminds the public that walking home is always an option, but appropriate clothing is essential during this time of year as temperatures can drop rapidly.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, hypothermia is most likely to happen during extreme cold temperatures, but it can occur at temperatures above 40°F if a person becomes chilled from rain, sweat or submersion in cold water.
If you must walk home from a party or an establishment this holiday season, ensure you are dressed appropriately for the cold to stay safe.
