News – Sheridan Media

While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, Downtown Sheridan Association Executive Director Zoila Perry and Promotions and Marketing Committee Chair Mikkayla Heath discussed the impact of shopping locally this holiday season.
With only two Saturdays remaining before Christmas, the DSA urged shoppers to spend their dollars in local stores, noting that 68% of every dollar spent locally stays in the Sheridan County community. According to the DSA, local businesses donate 250% more to local nonprofits than big box stores.
This year a record 2,499 shoppers in the downtown district entered the DSA Shop Small Shopping Spree that ran Nov. 1 through 30, spending more than $172,000.
