Sheridan County Conservation District Manager Carrie Rogaczewski and USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service District Conservationist Andrew Cassiday said the latest Rancher’s Night Out saw good attendance and productive conversations.
Developed by the Working Lands Collaborative, Rancher’s Night Out is an informal meeting of local landowners and other stakeholders to share ideas, learn from each other and outside sources.

Each Night Out is developed with a theme in mind. For the most recent Dec. 6 gathering, mental health of local farmers and producers was suggested. Clearing the Dust: A Practical Talk on Well-being covered topics such as long days, tough markets, drought, wildfire recovery and other pressures of agricultural life that are not often addressed.
Rogaczewski said much of the conversation took place at the tables of attendees with long time friends and working partners.

The Working Lands Collaborative is exploring seasonal or quarterly Rancher’s Night Out events to bring these stakeholders and Sheridan’s agricultural community together, improving the land and checking in with each other.
