News – Sheridan Media

Although the snow has arrived, seasonal job opportunities for the 2026 season are already beginning to open across Wyoming, with several positions available locally through the Wyoming Game and Fish Department.

Game and Fish is advertising a range of seasonal roles designed to support aquatic invasive species prevention, fisheries management and wildlife law enforcement, with opportunities suited for students, early-career professionals and retirees seeking part-time or seasonal work.

Game and Fish Public Information Specialist Christina Schmidt announced the posting of many of these positions on the department’s website.

Fisheries biologist technician positions are also available statewide, including Sheridan, and typically run four to six months beginning in April or May. These roles assist fisheries biologists with tasks such as fish sampling, creel surveys, stream and habitat surveys, equipment maintenance, data entry and occasional AIS inspections.

The department is also accepting applications statewide for game wardens, who enforce wildlife laws and regulations while contributing to wildlife management decisions. Game warden applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in wildlife management, range management, biology or a closely related field and must obtain Peace Officer Standards and Training certification.

Additional details on all available positions can be found by scrolling to the bottom of the Wyoming Game and Fish Department homepage and clicking on “careers.” Schmidt noted that more seasonal jobs will be added in the coming weeks and she urged interested applicants to check back regularly.
