Johnson County Assessor Steve Esponda, during his year-end report to the county commission, was asked by Chairman Bill Novotny to give a summary of mineral revenue in the county.
Esponda said oil revenues will be up, gas revenues will be down, but overall he expects mineral revenues for the county to be up again this year.
He added that the biggest issue his office is dealing with at the moment is property tax exemptions, and encouraged county residents interested in applying for the exemption to do so before the February 1 deadline either on the county website or at the assessor’s office.
