The Tongue River Fire Department responded at 2:51 a.m. on Sunday, December 21st, to an overturned cattle hauler on Interstate 90 eastbound at milepost 14.
Upon arrival, firefighters found the commercial livestock vehicle on its side, fully blocking both eastbound lanes of I-90.
There were no injuries reported as a result of the accident.
Emergency responders immediately secured the scene and worked to protect motorists, responders, and livestock.
Due to the lane blockage, traffic was routed through the incident area on the shoulder while response and recovery operations continued.
Fire department personnel remained on scene throughout the morning, assisting with efforts to rescue as many cattle as possible under difficult conditions.
The Tongue River Fire Department thanks the Wyoming Highway Patrol, WYDOT, and other assisting agencies for their coordination, as well as the public for their patience while crews worked to manage traffic and mitigate the incident.
Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
