Museum at the Bighorns Director Carrie Edinger and Operations Director Chip King made an appearance on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse to announce the Museum at the Bighorns Family Day.

Edinger announced the museum will host its first Family Day at 10 a.m. to noon Friday, Jan. 2, 2026, at their new location, 171 N. Main St. in Sheridan.

According to Edinger, the event will feature free kids and family activities, including a museum activity table for the kids that showcases animals from the High Plains and mountain regions, with a focus on animal diets and why they differ by environment.

The Natural History Museum of Wyoming will also participate with a Champsosaurus puzzle and information highlighting a future partnership tied to the museum’s upcoming Environmental History exhibit.
