April – Clear Creek Stop Closed
In April, The Clear Creek Stop convivence store announced that it was closing after 25 years of serving the Clearmont community.
Shari Teitjen opened the store in 2000, and Anna and Steve Switzer purchased the store from Blake Teitjen, Shari’s husband, after Shari died in 2009. Anna talked about the changes they made.
Making a living in a small town is difficult, but Switzer’s kept the Clear Creek Stop going for 15 years before closing in 2025.
Switzers want to thank the community for all their support over the years.
June – Clearmont Council Meets with Wyoming Business Council
Finding new ways to bring growth to Clearmont was the topic of the meeting on Monday, June 9, between Clearmont Town Council members, school board members and four members of the Wyoming Business Council.
Mayor Chris Schock said that one of his concerns was the legislature wanting to do away with property taxes and raise the sales tax.
With the Clear Creek Stop closing, Schock said that the town will no longer received funds from the nicotine tax, alcohol tax, sales tax and the lottery, further reducing the monies that the town depends on.
The business council members toured the town and Schock has hopes they will have some ideas for encouraging growth of the town.
October – New Town Clerk at Clearmont

In October, Clearmont welcomed the new town clerk, Shelby Fenneman. Fenneman is a graduate of Clearmont High School, and Casper College.
Fenneman and Mayor Chris Shock talked about Shelby coming on board with the town.
Fennema started her job with the town of Clearmont on Sept 12. She replaces Kirstie Auzqui, who had worked as town clerk since October of 2023.
November – Clearmont Historical Center Unveils Handicapped Ramp

On Monday, June 16, the Clearmont Historical Group held their Clearmont meeting at Robert Prusak Ranch near Ulm. President Robert Prusak reported that Clearmont Historical Center received a Flagship Grant through the 2025 AARP Community Challenge grant program.
The sidewalk, the new back deck and handicapped ramp were unveiled on Nov. 20 after the Dave Nicolarsen natural history talk.
