Sheridan City Councilwoman Bev Leichtnam made an appearance on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse to urge able-bodied residents to volunteer for the Snow Patrol.
Designed to serve community members who are unable to shovel snow on their driveways and sidewalks due to health issues, age or disabilities, the Snow Patrol program is a collaboration between the City of Sheridan and The Hub on Smith.
While there may not be snow on the ground now, it is the winter season, and building a strong volunteer roster early will save time and benefit those in need once snow does arrive.
All Snow Patrol volunteers are required to answer a series of questions and complete a vetting process.

Once volunteers qualify, they are given access to an app that shows locations where assistance is needed for clearing sidewalks and driveways. The app also indicates if a location has already been served, and no personal information is shared, making it secure to use.
Those interested in volunteering can call Callie Trampe at The Hub on Smith at 307-675-4953.
Residents who need snow removal assistance can call the City Service Center at 307-675-4330.
