City of Sheridan Public Works Director Hanns Mercer is urging residents to keep an eye out for their landfill punch cards.

In the past, the Sheridan City Landfill operated a coupon system for city residents that relied on a database of residential and commercial addresses associated with current city utility accounts. The coupon program allowed customers to use the service a maximum of six times per year to dispose of up to 1 ton of unusual trash per visit.

While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, Mercer said there was a hole in the system that prevented certain residents from participating in the program.

According to the city, the new punch cards will be mailed to all residents this month, including renters. The city urges residents to keep their punch cards in a safe location when not in use, as the cards cannot be replaced.

According to Mercer, residents who do not receive a punch card in the mail should contact the City of Sheridan at 307-674-6483.
