A winter evening at the WYO Theater will turn into hands-on conservation when the Fly Fishing Film Tour returns to Sheridan, with proceeds supporting stream restoration at the Big Goose Natural Area.
The show begins at 5:45 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, in Sheridan, with doors opening at 4:30 p.m., and will bring anglers, outdoor enthusiasts and conservation-minded community members together for an evening of fly fishing films from around the globe.
The screening is hosted by the Fly Shop of the Bighorns and benefits the Sheridan Community Land Trust, which will use the funds to advance spring and summer projects along Big Goose Creek. Last year’s Fly Fishing Film Tour raised nearly $10,000 to kick-start restoration work, and this year’s support will help fund willow planting, bank stabilization and volunteer-powered improvements that build on a stretch of creek opened to public fishing and floating in 2024.
Attendees can also take part in raffles featuring outdoor gear and experiences donated by local businesses, including a high-alpine guided fly-fishing overnight adventure with Spear-O-Wigwam, a men’s or women’s mountain bike from Sheridan Bicycle Company, gear from Rocky Mountain Discount Sports, The Sport Stop, EPOCH Collection and Bighorn Trout Shop.
Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 the day of the show and are available at the Fly Shop of the Bighorns or online through the WYO Theater by clicking here. Proceeds will support continued access, education and restoration at the Big Goose Natural Area.
