The Wyoming Game and Fish Department will host a hunter education instructor training course April 17 and 18 in Sheridan for individuals interested in teaching future hunter education classes. According to Wyoming Game and Fish Department Public Information Specialist Christina Schmidt, the training will take place Friday evening and all day Saturday and is open to both new and currently certified instructors who want to learn how to teach internet completion courses.
Anyone interested in becoming a hunter education instructor must be at least 18 years old, have access to a computer and email, hold a valid hunter education certification from Wyoming or another state, and complete an application and background check.

The training will include a live internet completion course session Friday night where experienced instructors will teach a class with students present, allowing new instructors to observe how topics are organized and presented. The Saturday portion will focus on instructor-specific training, including how to set up classes, manage student registrations through the department’s database, and review policies and teaching procedures.
Those interested can submit an application through the education section of the Wyoming Game and Fish Department website by clicking here to begin the process.
