A 31-year-old Sheridan man was recently arraigned in Fourth Judicial District Court on a number of drug possession charges. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.

On December 31, 2025, a special agent with the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation was contacted by a United States Postal Inspector about a suspicious package they had received that was being sent from Manteca, California to an address in Sheridan. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of Tanner Kjos and Brittany Popp of Sheridan.

At a recent arraignment hearing in District Court, Kjos pleaded not guilty to two counts of felony possession of a controlled substance, one for allegedly possessing Cocaine, and one for allegedly possessing Hydrocodone. Kjos also pleaded not guilty to two misdemeanor charges, possession of a controlled substance – THC, and possession of a controlled substance – MDMA, more commonly known as Ecstasy. District Court Judge Darci Phillips scheduled a three-day jury trial to begin August 10. Popp, at a hearing on February 10 in District Court, pleaded not guilty to the exact same four charges. Her trial is scheduled for June 15.

If convicted on all of the charges, both Popp and Kjos each face up to 16 years in prison and fines of up to $32,000.
