Buffalo Police Chief Sean Bissett recently discussed with the city council an incident that resulted in his department making an arrest over home-made pipe bombs, thanks to two retail workers who reported their concerns to law enforcement.
He detailed what happened.
Bissett said officers conducted surveillance on the home, obtained a search warrant and found what appeared to be pipe bombs and bomb making materials.
The Campbell County Sheriff’s office bomb squad was called and they removed the materials to examine them.
Bissett describes what they found.
Bissett added that the public should be vigilant and “if you see something, say something. If something doesn’t seem right, doesn’t feel right, call us. If we find out its nothing, no harm no foul.”
Bissett was asked if the arrested individual was a resident of the area, and he said he has ties to the community. This isn’t someone that just showed up. He is from Buffalo.
He added that this is just another example of we are not immune to the things we see on the news, and what happens throughout the country. Yes, to a much smaller scale, but let’s not put the blinders on and think that it can’t happen here.
