A Look Back in Time: Nov. 16, 1917

Senators Kendrick and Kenyon today in France saw the American battalions practicing attacking behind a barrage of fire, witnessed the work of machine guns and saw the trench mortars doing direct artillery firing. They left for Paris this afternoon and will later visit the French front.

A dance will be held tomorrow at the Monarch Amusement Hall. Special rates will be charged on the 8 o’clock street car, and the dance will be from 9 till 1.

Mrs. Captain C.C. Ridgeway of Sheridan came out on the stage yesterday to the Reynolds ranch near Passaic, where she will spend a few weeks with her sister, Miss Alice Furness.

Mr. and Mrs. E.C. Mattox of Dietz were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. W.A. Anderson yesterday evening.
