A Look Back in Time: Nov. 17, 1917

An automobile accident resulted in fatal injuries to L.R. Peters, secretary of the Dietz Local, and serious injuries to his companion, Richard Burke. The incident occurred about 2 o’clock on the Tongue River bridge near Acme.

A banquet was held last night in honor of R.H. Walsh, the chairman of the Loyalty League. Mr. Walsh has now set out for important war work in France.

Mrs. Barron and Archie, of Monarch, returned home today from Denver, where they’ve been visiting the past eight weeks.

Mr. Roy Wertman, who was master mechanic for the Monarch Coal Company two years ago and who has been employed in Sheridan since, is now in France.
