A Look Back in Time: Jan. 7, 1918

This morning brought the first letter received in Sheridan from R.H. Walsh since he reached France. Mr. Walsh writes that he has been assigned to organize a big distributing center, and he will leave in two days for the site about six hours from Paris.

Mrs. Eldridge was in Sheridan from Ulm today.

Sheridan’s old city council met for the last time at 10:30 this morning, attended to routine business and then adjourned. Following the adjournment, the new council, consisting of Mayor M.B. Camplin and commissioners Loucks and Birkhaeuser, took the oaths of office and immediately went into session.

Corn will be 11 cents a can tomorrow at the Basket Store.
